PUP COED recognizes partner schools and institutions in the 2026 Appreciation Dialogue

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) College of Education (COED) honored its partner schools and institutions with certificates and plaques of recognition during the 2026 Appreciation Dialogue held on Tuesday, June 30, at the Claro M. Recto Hall, recognizing their contribution to the college's on-the-job training (OJT) program.

The annual dialogue marked the culmination of the month-long OJT of graduating COED students for Academic Year 2025–2026. It also served as a venue for partner schools and institutions to evaluate the internship program, exchange insights, and further strengthen collaboration in preparing future educators and librarians.

Representatives from partner schools and institutions commended the interns' professionalism, adaptability, and willingness to learn throughout their deployment during the evaluation segment. They also offered recommendations to further improve the college's OJT program.

Moreover, selected graduating students from the college's four academic departments also reflected on their internship experiences. Erica Rose B. Pelaez (DLIS) and John Eric A. Rosare (DBTLED) credited their supervisors for strengthening their professional skills during their deployment. In a separate reflection, Barbie Jane Orowa (DESED) and Brent Cyrill Z. Zarandin (DECEED) shared how practice teaching helped them translate classroom learning into actual teaching practice. 

COED Dean Dr. Rosemaribeth R. Dizon, DEM, emphasized the shared responsibility of the academe and its partner institutions in preparing competent educators and librarians. 

PUP Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman, PhD, delivered the welcome message and expressed the university's appreciation to the participating schools and institutions for their continued partnership with the college. 

Department chairpersons Dr. Ma. Carmela G. Asebias of the Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, Dr. Daizylyn C. Palillo of the Department of Secondary Education, Dr. Rhodora R. Julian of the Department of Library and Information Science, and Prof. Michelle B. Sotto of the Department of Business Teacher Education delivered response messages, recognizing the value of experiential learning and expressing their appreciation to the partner schools and institutions for their continued collaboration with the college.

Associate Dean Dr. Caroline T. Sumande, DEM, closed the program by thanking the partner schools and institutions for their continued partnership with the college.

The dialogue concluded with a renewed commitment between the College of Education and its partner schools and institutions to sustain collaborative efforts in providing quality field training and meaningful professional experiences for future educators and librarians.
